Your MK7 or 8V can't make power it can't breathe in. The iE MK7/8V Air Intake System replaces the choked factory airbox with true motorsport hardware: 3.5 inch piping, a full-width heat shield, a built-in velocity stack, a 5 inch filter, and smooth transition silicone couplers. The result is up to 15 WHP and 13 ft-lbs of torque, up to 67% more flow than stock, and a turbo you can finally hear. Run it open or finish it with a poly or carbon fiber lid.

RAM AIR SCOOP

The aluminum alloy heat shield spans the entire front clip. It channels high-pressure outside air from the grille straight into the velocity stack and filter, and seals hot engine bay air out. Cooler, denser air in. Consistent power out.

BUILT-IN VELOCITY STACK

The built-in velocity stack is a trick borrowed straight from professional racing. Its bellmouth shape pulls the huge surface area of the 5 inch filter into the 3.5 inch piping with minimal drag and none of the power-robbing turbulence of a flat inlet.

A fast car is fun. A fast car that sounds the part puts a smile on your face every drive. The high-velocity bellmouth and free-flow design amplify engine notes and turbo spool into an addictive soundtrack every time you throttle down.

We 3D-scanned the entire engine bay and designed the intake inside that digital model, then rapid-printed prototypes to prove real-world clearances before production. It mounts to the factory airbox points, clears everything, and looks like it left the factory that way. Bolt-on is supposed to feel like this.

POWER GAINS

On a turbo engine, flow is power. Race-proven design and obsessive detail deliver gains of up to 15 WHP and 13 ft-lbs of torque on the MQB EA888 Gen 3, with even more on hybrid and big turbo setups.

FLOW TESTING

Back-to-back flow bench testing against the factory airbox and small-diameter piping shows consistent airflow gains, up to a 67% increase in flow over stock with the iE intake and iE turbo inlet.

COMPLETE THE SYSTEM

The factory plastic turbo inlet is the last choke point between your filter and the turbo. Add the iE cast aluminum Turbo Inlet Pipe and total flow jumps from a 5.6% gain to 67% over stock. The intake kit ships with silicone couplers for both the stock inlet and the iE inlet, so you can add it now or later.

50-STATE CARB LEGAL

This intake system and the matching iE Turbo Inlet Pipe are CARB certified under EO Number D-838-1. Install the included CARB EO sticker and pass emissions testing in all 50 states, California included. More power, more sound, zero worry. Intakes purchased on or after April 5, 2021 are eligible for a replacement sticker from our support team with proof of purchase.

FITMENT NOTES

*Does not fit Audi A3 engines equipped with a MAF sensor, commonly found in FWD models.

*VW Arteon requires the iE Turbo Inlet Pipe (sold separately) and is not compatible with the carbon fiber lid without relocating the washer filler neck.

*Some European models have a front crash sensor that can interfere with the heat shield. Part of the heat shield will need to be modified to clear it.

FAQs

Do I need a tune to run this intake?

No. The intake works on stock software and adds flow, sound, and throttle response right away. Pair it with an iE ECU tune to unlock the full 10+ horsepower and torque gains.

Do I need a lid?

No. The intake runs great as an open filter system. The poly and carbon fiber lids are optional bolt-on upgrades for a finished, show car look. Add one now in the BUY NOW options or any time later.

Should I add the turbo inlet pipe?

If you want the most flow, yes. The intake alone gains about 5.6% over stock. With the iE Turbo Inlet Pipe the system flows up to 67% more than stock. The kit includes couplers for both the stock inlet and the iE inlet.

Is this intake emissions legal?

Yes. It is CARB certified under EO Number D-838-1 and legal in all 50 states. Install the included CARB EO sticker and you are covered for emissions testing.

Does it work with cars that have SAI?

Yes. The intake works with or without secondary air injection. There is no extra kit to buy.

How hard is the install?

Easy. Plan on around 1 hour with basic hand tools. The intake uses the factory airbox mounts, and a stealth coolant line is included at no extra cost. Download the install guide above.

Great Product

This intake looks, sounds, and fits a lot better than the CTS turbo intake I bought the car with. I think that a little bit of the heat shield got bent in the shipping process so I had to bend it back a little bit, not a huge deal. Install instructions are very clear, not left wondering if something was done wrong. 100% worth the price.

Super easy install and really nice high quality product. Hardest part was taking out the stock air intake system that was 6 years old and was a little stuck in it's place. Check out the great tutorials online if you're having issues installing the EI system. Thanks bros!
