UNCORK YOUR TURBO

The factory plastic turbo inlet on your Gen 3 1.8T or 2.0T TSI is fine for a stock car. Add an intake, intercooler, downpipe, or tune and its necked-down design becomes the biggest restriction in front of your turbo. The iE cast aluminum Turbo Inlet Pipe removes it with a constant, high-flow inner diameter that outflows stock by 110 CFM and lets your IS20 or IS38 pull the air your upgrades need.

Flow bench tested at 28 inches of H2O. The stock inlet tops out at 330 CFM. The iE inlet flows 440 CFM through the same path.

Tested on a 2019 GTI with Stage 2 hardware and software on 93 octane. The inlet pipe adds horsepower and torque across the top of the rev range where the stock inlet runs out of air.

The turbo side is machined for a true o-ring seal against the compressor housing, with a bolt-on support bracket that keeps the inlet locked in place. The intake side gets a 3-ply silicone coupler and clamp. It seals like a factory part and flows like a race part.

PAIRS WITH THE iE INTAKE

Because the inlet is larger than stock, it must be installed with an aftermarket cold air intake. It is a direct install with the iE MK7/8V Air Intake System (IEINCI11). Together they flow up to 67% more than stock. A universal silicone adapter is supplied for most 3 inch intakes, though direct fit is not guaranteed with non-iE kits.

50-STATE CARB LEGAL

This turbo inlet pipe and the matching iE intake system are CARB certified under EO Number D-838-1. Install the included CARB EO sticker and pass emissions testing in all 50 states. Turbo inlets purchased on or after April 5, 2021 are eligible for a replacement sticker from our support team with proof of purchase.

FAQs

Will this fit my stock airbox?

No. The inlet is larger than stock and requires an aftermarket cold air intake. It is a direct fit with the iE MK7/8V Air Intake System. A universal silicone adapter is included for most 3 inch intakes, but direct fit is not guaranteed with non-iE kits.

Do I need a tune?

No. The inlet works on stock software. The biggest gains show up on tuned cars with Stage 1 and Stage 2 hardware, where the stock inlet becomes the main restriction in front of the turbo.

Does it work with the IS20 and IS38?

Yes. It fits the factory IS20 and IS38 turbochargers with a machined o-ring seal and helps both pull the airflow your upgrades need.

Does it fit with a DV+ or diverter valve spacer?

No. The inlet does not fit with the DV+ diverter valve or diverter valve spacers.

Is it emissions legal?

Yes. The inlet is CARB certified under EO Number D-838-1 and 50 state legal. Install the included CARB EO sticker and you are covered for emissions testing.

How long does the install take?

Careful with the O Ring

Was super easy to install! Just take care to be gentle when placing onto the turbo so you don't rip the o-ring. It's pretty easy to snap. Had to order a replacement. But they sent that quickly and all good since then!
