The stock turbo outlet pipe on your MK8 GTI, Golf R or 8Y S3 is pinched plastic with tight bends at the most critical point in the charge system. The iE Turbo Outlet Pipe replaces it with mandrel bent, TIG welded aluminum at a constant diameter for a 13.44% increase in flow over stock, right out of the turbocharger.

Most aftermarket pipes bead-roll thin-wall tube for the hose connection, which crushes when you tighten the clamp and leaks boost. Ours use thick-wall CNC machined aluminum ends, TIG welded to the pipe, with grip-lock ribbing and a true radius edge. Crush-proof and leak-free.

Using 3D scanning and modeling, iE engineers kept every factory mount point on the design. TIG welded brackets retain the harness, coolant line and clip mounts, so nothing is left hanging or rubbing. It installs like a factory part in black powder coat.

On GTI engines, removing the stock outlet pipe gives you easy access to the restrictive factory turbo muffler. It is the perfect time to fit the iE Turbo Muffler Delete for a smooth, uninterrupted path out of the turbo and the boost sound enthusiasts love. Sold separately. Golf R and S3 turbo mufflers are built into the factory outlet pipe, so the muffler delete does not apply to those cars.

FAQs

Do I need a tune?

No. The outlet pipe works on stock software. Tuned cars running more boost see the biggest gains from the extra flow.

Does it fit the Golf R and S3?

Yes. It fits MK8 Golf R, MK8 GTI and 8Y S3. On the R and S3 the turbo muffler is built into the factory pipe, so this part removes it. The separate Turbo Muffler Delete is for GTI only.

Should I add the Turbo Muffler Delete?

On a GTI, yes. The muffler is right there once the outlet pipe is off, and both parts install in the same job.

Will it leak boost?

No. Thick CNC machined hose ends with grip-lock ribbing are crush-proof, so the clamps bite without deforming the pipe.

How long is the install?

Around 2 hours with basic tools. It requires removing the belly pan, plastic mount clips and the radiator fan. No permanent modifications.

Worth the money

I purchased this nearly a month ago and finally had time to install it. Install was relatively easy. The craftsmanship and fit of the part was excellent. I now have slightly better throttle response over how it had been. I won't know until I get the car retuned on the dino how much improvement it actually made. Hoping to pull a couple more hp&tq out of it.
