RAM AIR

Deflect performance-killing heat with an intake that sports an aluminum alloy heat shield. Spanning the entire length of the front clip it seals off hot engine bay air. High-pressure outside air is channeled from the front grill directly to an integrated velocity stack and air filter.

Throttle growls, turbo whistles, engine snarls—call it what you want. Our high-velocity bellmouth and free-flow design unmuzzles your engine with unique, satisfying notes and turbo sounds. Switch the radio off and smash the throttle pedal to conduct your own symphony of addictive engine noise.

UNIFIED FLOW

With this adaptable design, you’re good to go for future turbo upgrades. This is a single-piece turbo inlet, so there’s no need for silicone couplers. That means fewer transitions and less power-robbing turbulence. With the included turbo adapter, you’ll get great flow without buying another inlet to complete your intake system. Install is a snap, just three clamps.

HIGH VELOCITY

Lifted from the pages of professional race engineering, our built-in velocity stack bellmouth shape is designed to deliver huge gulps of air that flow efficiently from the 5" air filter surface area to the intake piping. This true motorsport design feature is built for maximum airflow with minimal drag and power-robbing turbulence.

DYNO TESTING

Tuning your MK8 2.0T’s with a stock intake can kill horsepower and torque. Stage 1 tuning can give you some good gains with stock hardware. But if you’re thinking of taking your car to Stage 2, you’ll want to replace your intake and intercooler too. Losing those hardware limitations can add up to +35HP and +20ft-lbs of torque over Stage 1 with a stock intake!

Upgrading the intake system removed major restrictions, allowing for higher power potential via tuning. The dyno graph details the max power from the stock intake with 91 octane Stage 1 vs. the iE intake system with 91 octane Stage 2 on a VW Golf R. The results are significant gains of 35 horsepower and 20 ft-lbs of torque.

FLOW TESTING

In flow bench testing of iE’s intake versus the stock intake with small-diameter pipes, our intake took home the trophy (and it wasn’t even close) with consistent airflow gains of up to 40% more than stock!

NOTE: GTI engines have a smaller turbo inlet than larger Golf R/S3 turbos. Testing reflects real-world conditions, and lower GTI results are due to the smaller factory turbo inlet. These results also highlight the iE intake's ability to support higher airflow demands and power goals, even when upgrading turbos.

With factory-style mounting and an ultra-precise fitment, this intake pops into place without any guesswork or permanent modifications. It's easy breezy for any level of DIYer. All you need are a few basic tools and your favorite garage playlist.

AVERAGE INSTALL TIME: 30-45 MINUTES

HASSLE-FREE

Save your expletives for something else. We’ve made the install a piece of cake. Using 3D scanners, we render a digital model of the engine bay for a dress rehearsal in The Matrix. We can see if everything fits like a factory-installed part but with smarter-looking curves and angles. Then it’s onto real-world rapid prototyping for the finishing touches and snug fit with no snags. You’ll f#$%@ing love it!

There’s some nasty stuff out there, if you find yourself in harsh climates, keep your engine safe and combat dirt, sand and whatever that is. Drive confidently with our optional upgraded 8-pleated filter treated with penetrating filter oil and covered with a pre-filter soc!

Awesome sound and performance

I recently installed the Integrated Engineering intake on my MK8 GTI, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The sound it produces is amazing—deep and aggressive without being over the top. It really brings the car to life and makes driving even more enjoyable.

I did run into some issues installing the adapter, which was a bit of a pain, but once I got past that, everything fit well. I do wish the intake tube was made of aluminum like the one for the MK7 GTI, but I get that they went with a more cost-effective option. Despite these minor hiccups, the overall performance and sound quality make it worth every penny. Highly recommend it!

Mk8 R review

Was it worth the long wait.....

Install was straight forward , it does come with the relocation coolant line which is needed for this gen.

Perfect fit and finish, looks great even without the carbon cover which

I decided to hold off for now. Hoping they come out with a polymer (less expensive )one...

For those wondering about the sound, it was actually not as loud as I thought it would be. It sounds completely stock if driving normally and shifting around 3k.( My car is not tuned for reference)

Now between 3100 rpm and above, you can definitely hear the induction sound and it's sounds absolutely amazing, not overly loud but really enjoyable to drive in a more aggressive manner....Absolutely addicting...
