3.0T SUPERCHARGED STAGE 1

IE Stage 1 ECU calibration dramatically increases performance with up to 416HP & 391TQ, transforming your supercharged 3.0L into a truly performance-classed vehicle. Engineered to operate on entirely stock hardware and compatible with basic bolt-ons (intake, exhaust, heat exchanger) without the need to retune.

STAGE 2 SINGLE PULLEY

Stage 2 single pulley files are calibrated for a smaller press-on supercharger pulley delivering up to 492HP with minimal hardware upgrades. The single pulley ratio is achieved by driving the supercharger faster via the smaller pulley. See below for recommended pulley option:

Dual pulley tune ratio can be acheived by combining press-on supercharger pulley with 188mm crank pulley or with 207mm crank pulley on it's own. IE does not recommend use of 188mm pulley on it's own or combining 207mm crank pulley with upper press-on SC pulley.

DUAL PULLEY E40 ETHANOL

Ethanol contains tons of oxygen, burns cooler, and has a high resistance to knock. This provides the tuning potential for a massive horsepower and torque gain over running conventional gasoline and is more readily available (in most states) and less expensive than race gas. The factory fuel system with an upgraded HPFP (high pressure fuel pump) can support a maximum mix of 2/5ths E85 and 3/5ths 91/93 premium gas to produce an E40 ethanol blend delivering up to an intense 548HP & 525ft-lbs of torque!

INCREASED RPM

The powerband has been optimized To take advantage of the new boost curve and pulley ratios. The RPM limits are raised in all gears to 7200RPM on stage 1 & stage 2 single pulley tunes and 7350RPM on dual pulley. DSG-equipped cars will shift slightly before the new engine RPM limits.

DSG Tune is required to unlock higher RPM.

2-STEP LAUNCH CONTROL

2-step is an advanced motorsport ECU calibration feature built into the ECU software. This drag racing style launch will dramatically increase your 60 foot and acceleration off the line by building engine load and boost from a stop providing a large advantage over similarly powered vehicles in a competitive scenario.

Available upgrade for single pulley tunes and included with with dual pulley files.

OPTIONAL EXHAUST CRACKLE

Give your supercharged engine an aggressive sporty sound. Turning on the exhaust crackle gives your 3.0T a head-turning performance exhaust overrun when you rev, decelerate, or let off the throttle for gear changes.

Optional feature included with stage 2 single and dual pulley tunes. For the most aggressive pops and bangs, aftermarket downpipes or catback exhaust is recommended.

FUEL DRAIN OPTION

Higher octanes such as 100, 104, and ethanol offer a huge bump in power for race days but can be expensive or hard to mix for everyday driving. To make swapping fuels easier, IE has included a nifty feature that allows you to drain your fuel tank to the last drop. Simply connect a few feet 5/16” fuel hose to the feed line under the engine bay and hit the drain button in the extras menu on the IE POWERlink Flash Wizard software. Available for all ECU stages.

Fuel drain is an advanced racing function, use fuel safe practices anytime you work with fuel or fuel lines.

MANUAL FAN CONTROL

Keeping the supercharger cool in between runs is the key to staying competitive and in optimal power in a drag racing scenario. To help reduce temperatures while staging, IE's optional fan control feature allows you to run the fans and coolant pump at full power on demand using the cruise control stalk. Simply flip the radiator fans to full power to pull heat out of the supercharger and effectively lowering intake air temperatures before the next run.

Currently available for B8.5 and C7.5 (facelift non-CREC) models only.

CATALYST OPTIMIZED EGT

Even on completely stock cars, the factory catalytic converters (CATs) are a known failure point of the 3.0T platform leading to costly repairs or possible engine damage. IE's pump fuel (91 & 93) files for all stages are specially calibrated with the safest possible air to fuel mixtures to inhibit knocking and to provide cooler exhaust gas temperatures. Going this extra mile adds an additional layer of protection for the fragile catalytic converters not found in many competitor tunes. Race fuel files, launch control, and exhaust crackle features are intended for motorsports use and may reduce catalytic converter safety.

Your tune purchase entitles you to free updates to any tune revisions, new octanes, standard features, or software updates. In the event the original vehicle manufacturer issues an ECU update, this will also be included to you through IE at no additional charge.

TUNE REGISTRATION

Huge performance boost

Massive improvement over the stock Audi tune, my 2016 S5 6 speed feels like a whole new car now! The stage 1 tune really woke the car up and transformed it into a truly fun sports car! Looking at doing a stage 2 down the road.

Smooth Power and Money well spent...

I just replaced my 4 year old APR dual Pulley stage 2 + tune with the IE tune...its smoother and offers more features, in addition to being able to change the tune myself via my phone....also enjoy the "Crackle"

It also works hand in hand with the TCU tune....

Noticeable improvement

I live in china and my car is an Audi a5 50tfsi which has the same 3.0t engine to the s5. The only difference to s5 is that Audi decreases the power to 272hp which is the same as the 3.0t Q5. Honestly, there are a bunch of brands that provide this 3.0t upgrade, but in China most brands don’t provide a diy flash tool and that means you have to drive the car to the shop and let the mechanics flash your car. Beyond doubt they will charge a lot of money . For instance, an apr tuning for 3.0t will cost you over twelve thousand yuan which is 1700 dollars and nearly all other brands also shares the same price. I knew IE two years ago while some YouTubers make videos on the comparison between IE and 034. I did some research and found IE is relatively stable, well tuned and has a good post-sales service. Unfortunately, IE doesn’t provide services and products in china market so I temporarily gave up. Until early this year my car cannot satisfy me anymore so I put much effort to place the order and get the POWERlink mailed to china. I flashed my car as soon as I got the POWERlink tool, it’s plug and play and can switch the Ron anytime you want. My cars has run the 98 Ron stage1 for about 3 months and it runs perfectly and I’m looking forward to get a stage2 setup and tcu tune. I recommended IE to my friends who owns Audi and vw vehicles. One of my friends got the IE stage 2 tune on his mk6 gti and he said it just worth of money. Anyway, looking forward to IE sell performance parts and…

Q5 @ 220K KM a new lease of life :)

Running a CPO 2017 Q5 3.0 with extended warranty out to 180K KM.

It's been a relatively happy journey so far... But now it was time to see what it could do.

I'd classify myself as a progressive driver, it's about getting from point A to point B with the minimum of fuss and the maximum amount of fun, while focusing on safety.

I picked IE as they appeared to have the experience and focus I was looking for.

I started with the ECU tune (stage 1) and ran that for a week to see how the stock transmission programming worked. Hmmmm.

After a week I added the TCU tune..... totally worth it for the predictability and performance gains..... however.....

This exposed weakness in the drive train bushings with the additional torque from IE's ECU/TCU tuning combination..... so next up was (50-16)'s drive train inserts.

HMOG..... That's the combination that the Q5 should have come from the factory with.

Kudos to both companies for getting it right .... roll on the next 100K KM
