Is this a standalone tuning package?
No. This is a dedicated software upgrade that requires a pre-existing iE B9 A4 Apex tuning license. It is a separate add-on product explicitly designed for hybrid turbocharger hardware.
Does this Map Pack include the turbocharger?
No. The Map Pack only includes the ECU calibration required to run the Turbo Systems Hybrid Turbocharger. The turbo and supporting hardware must be purchased separately.
Do I need the iE Apex Tune before installing this Map Pack?
iE B9 A4 Apex Tier, Stage 3 Map Pack Engine Tune and Stage 3 TCU Tune are mandatory to run this turbo safely and correctly on your Longitudinal EA888 Gen 3.
The Stage 3 Map Pack expands the Apex tune by adding the programming required to run the upgraded turbocharger to your stock ECU.
What hardware upgrades do I need for Stage 3?
Stage 3 hardware requires the iE/TurboSystems Turbocharger, upgraded air intake, 5 Bar map sensors, intercooler, and VW Golf R injector upgrade (X4 injectors VW PN: 06K906036N and X4 injector clips VW PN: 06J133036F).
Do I need a TCU tune for Stage 3?
Yes. iE’s specific Stage 3 TCU tune is mandatory to handle the increased torque. It optimizes shift points specifically for the hybrid power curve.
Is iE Stage 3 tuning safe for a daily-driven B9 A4?
Yes. Our calibrations are engineered around smooth, controlled torque delivery rather than dangerous spikes. In addition, iE AutoProtect continuously monitors individual cylinders and actively intervenes if unsafe conditions are detected. Power is reduced automatically and restored once conditions stabilize.
Can I flash the Stage 3 Map Pack at home?
Yes. The Stage 3 Map Pack is installed using the iE POWERlink OBD-II tuning cable and mobile app. Simply connect the cable, select the Stage 3 calibration, and flash the ECU directly from your phone.
