THINGS TO EXPECT

All normal. None of this means something went wrong.

Check engine light after flashing?

Totally normal. Your ECU needs time to relearn fuel trims, knock values, and idle parameters. Drive 50-100 miles of mixed driving (city + highway) before worrying. Most adaptation CELs clear themselves. If a code persists past 200 miles, reach out to support.

Car smells different after install?

A faint burning smell for the first few drives is normal, especially with exhaust or downpipe installs. It's residual oils and coatings burning off the new hardware. Should disappear within 50-100 miles. Persistent strong smells or visible smoke from a specific area warrant a closer look at your connections.

Feels slower when it's hot out?

Hot air is thin air. Your intercooler helps, but physics wins every time. Best pulls happen on cool mornings. Totally normal.

 Idle feels rougher than stock?

The ECU is re-adapting. After a flash or hardware change, idle may hunt or feel slightly uneven for a few drive cycles. Give it 50-100 miles of normal driving. If rough idle continues, check for vacuum leaks at all coupler connections and make sure your intake is fully seated.

Boost feels inconsistent at first?

Your ECU is building new boost and timing maps through adaptation. For the first 100-200 miles, you may notice boost coming on differently than expected. Stay out of full throttle during this period. Once adapted, boost delivery should be smooth and consistent.

New sounds from my intake?

You're going to hear more induction noise. That's the point. A whoosh on throttle lift, louder turbo spool, and a more aggressive idle tone are all signs the intake is flowing properly. Abnormal sounds would be metallic rattling or scraping, which could mean a loose clamp or coupler.

QUICK ANSWERS

The stuff you're probably wondering right now.

What's the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2?

Stage 1 is a tune-only calibration that works with your stock hardware. Stage 2 requires an intake, and intercooler and unlocks more aggressive timing and boost targets. Each stage is calibrated for specific hardware combos. Don't run a Stage 2 file on stock hardware.

What fuel should I run?

91 octane minimum. 93 recommended. Higher octane gives the ECU more room to run optimal timing. If you're on an E85 calibration, use a quality station with high fuel turnover rates. Low-quality fuel is the number one cause of knock events and pulled timing.

Will this void my dealer warranty?

Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer cannot void your factory warranty just because you installed aftermarket parts. They must prove the specific part caused the specific failure. That said, a flashed ECU is detectable. Know your rights and your dealer.

What spark plugs do I need?

One step colder than OEM, gapped to .024". Spark plugs are a wear item on tuned cars. Check gap every 15,000 miles and replace as needed. Proper gap is critical for avoiding misfires under boost.

Can I stack multiple iE mods together?

Yes, and they're designed for it. iE products are engineered and calibrated as a system. Intake + tune, intercooler + downpipe + tune, full bolt-on builds. The key is making sure your tune calibration matches your hardware. Every time you add a new piece, verify you're on the right file.

What oil should I use and how often?

Full synthetic, every 5,000 miles. Tuned motors run harder than stock. Consistent oil changes are the single cheapest thing you can do to protect your build. Check your owner's manual for viscosity spec, and don't push intervals past 5K on a modified car.

YOUR BUILD PATH

ECU TUNE

The foundation of every build. Our proprietary flash unlocks 20-30% more power by optimizing fueling, timing, and boost. Plug-and-play via OBD port — no hardware modifications required.

Intake System

Our high-flow intake outflows the OE airbox by 67%, delivers up to 18 hp, and pairs perfectly with the ECU tune for maximum power gains across the full RPM range.

Pair it with a turbo inlet pipe for maximum top-end pull.

Lowering Springs

Don't be caught dead without them. VW sandbagged your ride with safe settings. iE lowering springs will fix your stance, increase your grip levels. Carefully tuned spring rates will raise your pulse with just the right amount of rotation on turn-in.

TCU Tune

The DSG is holding your engine back. Our transmission tune raises shift points, removes the factory torque limiter, and tightens clutch engagement for maximum acceleration and enthusiast-friendly driving characteristics. A must-have.

Intercooler

Heat soak kills power. As much as 10whp on the very first pull, up to 20+ after 5 pulls. Our massive intercooler keeps intake temps 30°F lower mere degrees over ambient under hard driving — same numbers on lap one as lap ten.

Sway Bars

Sway bars, end links, and a dead set kit will take your car from a canyon cruiser to a canyon slayer. Way more grip, precision control, and pure driving excitement. This setup completes our carefully engineered suspension package.

TrueFlex

Our TrueFlex E85 Flex Fuel solution adds up to 60 more horsepower to your existing setup over 91 octane fuel. Install the sensor, upgrade to Pro Software, and pump 91, E85, or anything in between.
