Is this a direct bolt-on replacement?

Yes. The turbo is designed to fit in the factory location and retains all OEM plumbing and mounting points. Requires matching software.

What is the power gain with this hybrid turbo?

When installed with the required hardware upgrades and iE Stage 3 engine & transmission tuning, this bolt-in turbo upgrade produces up to 424 horsepower and 424 ft-lbs of torque!

What other parts are required for this B9 A4 Turbo Upgrade?

iE B9 A4 Apex Tier, Stage 3 Map Pack Engine Tune and Stage 3 TCU Tune are mandatory to run this turbo safely and correctly on your Longitudinal EA888 Gen 3. For hardware, you will need an upgraded air intake, 5 bar map sensors, intercooler, and VW Golf R injector upgrade (X4 injectors VW PN: 06K906036N and X4 injector clips VW PN: 06J133036F).

How does this compare to the TTE440L?

The hybrid features a larger internal compressor,  turbine wheels, and compressor and turbine housings, allowing it to move significantly more air and create higher boost pressures over the stock OEM turbo.

Does this work on the Longitudinal EA888.3B FWD “Ultra” Models?

It may, but if that's your intended purpose, please - don't buy this from us. We have not confirmed the fitment on the A4 / A5 FWD “Ultra” cars and do not provide software support for them - if you buy this from us for this purpose, we can't offer you support.

High Quality, Stock Fitment Hybrid Turbo

I installed this turbo (plus all supporting mods) and I've fallen in love with this car all over again. The amount of power this car has now is incredible and the best part is, the powerband now extends through the entire RPM range. No more falling off a cliff at 4k RPMs.

Not only that, this turbo sounds incredible. Even just cruising around town the turbo noises are intoxicating. I've been a big fan of the set up and the parts from IE are top notch.

Install is a breeze, all things considered. Make sure you have a stubby M8 triple square for the final coolant line on the turbo, otherwise you'll fight with that bolt for way too long.
